Ahoj! The European tour of “Velorukh. Cycling in Ukraine” comes to the Czech Republic, Prague.
The 300-pages album book of the best pictures, illustrations and texts about cycling culture, bicycles, races, spots and phenomenons will be presented in Prague by its co-author Mariia Shevchenko on June 21 within the RefuFest

From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, Evgeniy Maloletka documented life and death in the besieged city. In his book, he shares deeply personal reflections, whilst also recording war crimes and revealing the horrors that unfolded on the city’s streets, in its cellars and hospitals. Come along to hear the story behind the images seen around the world, and to learn the truth about war journalism and the role of photography in documenting the truth. The presentation will be followed by a conversation with the author, moderated by Lori Hinnant.

Evgeniy Maloletka
A photojournalist who has been documenting the war in Ukraine since 2014. He is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner (2023) in Public Service and Breaking News Photography, and the recipient of the World Press Photo of the Year (2023) for his image from the Mariupol maternity hospital. His work has also been recognised with numerous international awards.
Lori Hinnant
A reporter on the Associated Press global investigative team. She earned the George Polk Award for War Reporting for her coverage of Ukraine, including documenting the Russian attack on Mariupol and investigating torture sites and mass civilian deaths.
Presented by HYST Agency in partnership with Ukraїner and Ukraine Charity. The event will take place with the media support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Ukrainian Institute in London.
Ukraїner is taking part in the Cologne festival programme. The screening, entitled ‘Where Empires End, Roads Begin’, features two films that explore how imperial legacies shape memory, borders and identity — and how new pathways of connection emerge.
A group viewing of stories from the ‘Culture During War’ series by Ukraїner International, which highlights Ukrainian artists who continue to create during the war and shows how art becomes a powerful act of resilience and resistance. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Yulia Tymoshenko, the organisation’s chair.

From 7 to 9 October, Ukraïner’s books will be exhibited at the LIBER international book fair — Spain’s largest platform dedicated to Spanish-language publishing. Thanks to the support of the Con Ucrania Association, will be showcasing up to 11 titles that highlight Ukraine’s diversity, culture and history.
