The last few days have changed the course of European history. The Russian Federation, supported by the Republic of Belarus, openly attacked Ukraine, aiming to replace the government in a sovereign country. Ukrainians have put up considerable resistance to the invaders. For the first two days, they have stalled attempts at the takeover threatened by the Russian and Belarusian dictators before the attack. These photographs capture what are already historic moments for our time.

Ukrainians are continuing to defend themselves and protect their right to a peaceful life, self-determination, and a chance of being a part of the larger European family. While the Russian dictatorship continuously lies to the entire world about “liberating” Ukraine, the reality is that the invading army is inflicting great suffering on the local citizens, who, in turn, are protecting themselves by greeting the occupants with Molotov cocktails.

28th February – 1st March

Ukraine continues to defend itself, not allowing the Russian army to conquer any of the big Ukrainian cities. While the entire world carries out the rallies to show their support for Ukraine, Russia is becoming increasingly more isolated. In Ukraine, going down to the basement because of the air rade alerts, became the new normalcy. Russian troops are openly declaring that they were ordered to shoot civilians. At the same time, a Ukrainian passport literally saves a young man’s life.
