“Velorukh. Cycling in Ukraine” in Porto, Portugal

What to expect?

“Velorukh. Cycling in Ukraine” book presentations are coming to Portugal and the first stop is Porto. This coffee-table photo book was made by a community of photographers, artists, and riders who wanted to show a different side of Ukraine: its backroads, its bike races, its everyday cyclists just getting on with life. Given how much Porto loves its hills and its bikes, we figured this crowd would get it immediately.

The evening will feature Mariia Shevchenko, co-author of the book and co-creator of Ukraine’s first cycling podcast, Rotor and Glitter, who’ll share the story behind “Velorukh” — how it came together, the people and places in it, and what cycling really looks like in Ukraine today. The talk will be moderated by Dima Chok, cycling enthusiast and the person behind “Shvydkisnyi Visnyk” (Speed Bulletin).
