“Velorukh. Cycling in Ukraine” in Stockholm

What to expect?

“Velorukh. Cycling in Ukraine” is coming to Stockholm as part of its European tour.

It feels right to bring this book to Sweden. Cycling is part of daily life here, much like it’s becoming part of Ukraine’s story — and over the past years, the Nordic countries have stood by Ukraine in ways that mean a lot to us. This event is a small way of returning that connection, through the culture and beauty of cycling.

The book itself is a 300-page album full of photography, illustrations by well-known Ukrainian artists and cyclists, and stories from riders and cycling communities across Ukraine. It shows a side of the country many people haven’t seen — its landscapes, its racing history, and even a Ukrainian-made bike so fast it got banned by the UCI after winning a world championship in the 90s.

The event will feature a talk by co-author of the book Mariia Shevchenko, followed by a moderated discussion, audience Q&A, and an opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book.
